Here is a quick summary of key dates businesses need to be aware of when it comes to tax. We’ve also got a quick reference below on how to pay taxes using internet banking and credit card.
*EOT = Extension of time
You can pay using your bank’s website or app for internet banking.
When you make direct credit payments, we recommend using the 'pay tax' function provided by most New Zealand banks – there is no fee for this easy service.
You will need your IRD number, tax type and period you are paying.
If your bank doesn’t have a ‘pay tax’ feature, you can transfer into the IRD’s bank account – here’s the IRD bank account number
Inland Revenue Department
03-0049-0001100-27
You will need a MyIR account for this.
Log in to MyIR. Select 'Make a payment', then 'Credit card payment'.
Note – There is a fee of 1.42% for using a debit or credit card when paying tax.
