Tania Mugford was looking for something different when she came to work at Oxford Edge. It took her a wee while to realise just how different it was.
After gaining a B.Com from Lincoln University, Tania first worked for a small firm, where she enjoyed a lot of variety. From there she went to a larger firm to develop her career.
The talk was big there about opportunities to progress but talk is all it was. After 12 years of unfulfilled promises, Tania was ready to move on. In April last year Tania started at Oxford Edge as a Business Advisor.
“It’s a different kind of accounting at Oxford Edge. At my previous firm, the majority of what we did was the processing side of things while the directors did their thing; meeting clients and so on. It was a traditional heirarchy, with not much intermingling.
“Now my work involves more reviewing of client data, business advice and dealing with people, including client training. It’s really varied – every day is different.”
Tania’s focus for 2023 is on building her client knowledge base and gaining further qualifications. She strongly believes the flat management structure at Oxford Edge makes for a positive learning environment, with team members having ready access to the experience and expertise of the directors and everyone being treated as an equal part of the team.
